Goncourt brothers' diary: The Breton builds his house of stone, not brick

Lavoix said to a Breton who was building a house of sandstone, the usual stone of houses in Brittany, "Why don't you use brick? It's prettier." "Brick lasts only 800 years!" said the owner.
